When completing Step Four of your YouStrive Mental Training Journal use the examples below or create your own Basic Moments to suit your game.

When I pass short...
I am moving into space to be an option for my team mate

When I pass long...
I am watching the ball onto my foot, driving through the ball, following through, chest facing my target

When I receive the ball under pressure...
I am moving my first touch into space

When I receive the ball under no pressure...
I am taking my first touch forward

When my team loses the ball...
I am sprinting back into position

When my team wins the ball...
I am quickly opening into position

When I challenge for a 50-50 ball...
I am aggressive and fight for the ball

When I challenge for a header...
I am jumping early, arms up, attacking the ball aggressively

When I press my opponent...
I am pressing quickly and aggressively to win the ball

When I shield the ball...
I am strong, arm up, doing everything I can to protect the ball 

When I lose the ball...
I am immediately pressing to get it back

When my teammate has possession...
I am scanning the field to see where my teammates are

When my teammate is under pressure...
I am quickly moving to create an angle to support

When I am tightly marked...
I am making two movements to lose my defender and be an option

When the opposition play backwards...
I am pushing up and telling my teammates to push up
